If you’re looking for the most cost-effective solution, a custom saddle stitch coloring book may be your best bet. Because we fold and staple the pages along the spine, the book opens flat for easy coloring. For this binding method, we recommend a page count of between 8 and 64 pages. It’s an economical and neat choice, perfect for shorter coloring books.

Wire-O Coloring Book Printing

Wire-O binding offers the convenience of 360° page rotation, allowing colorists to flip the pages all the way around or lay the book completely flat. That means a more comfortable coloring experience. We recommend anywhere from 32 to 200 pages for Wire-O–bound coloring books. You can choose between a softcover or hardcover, and we can customize paper stocks, covers, and page counts based on your needs and budget.

Hardcover Coloring Book Printing

For a sturdy, premium coloring book, consider a hardcover. We can bind your book with a traditional sewn hardcover for a lay-flat opening of 180°, or a wire-O hardcover for a full 360° flip. Many of our customers who opt for hardcover choose the wire-O version for its ease of use when coloring, but a regular sewn hardcover remains a popular choice for a more classic look and feel.

Perforated Coloring Book Printing

Want each coloring page to be removable? Colorists can tear them out to display, frame, or share—then perforated pages are the way to go. Adding a perforated line, usually near the binding edge, so each sheet can be torn out as large as possible. This is a great option for both personal use and classroom or any setting.

Thicker offset papers including 120 gsm, 140 gsm, or 160 gsm offset paper—are best for markers, crayons, or watercolor pencils, preventing ink from bleeding through.
